How a top DC strategist courted Jeffrey Epstein

Crisis communications consultant Juleanna Glover corresponded with the late sex offender during a 15-month period shortly before his death in 2019. She says it was all in service of tanking Trump.

Prominent Washington political strategist Juleanna Glover publicly advocated for a third-party presidential candidate during the first term of Donald Trump. She argued that the country needed a “morally lucid” leader similar to Abraham Lincoln.

However, newly surfaced information shows that during the same period she was privately exchanging emails with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein more than a decade after Epstein had served jail time on child prostitution charges.

According to the emails, Glover and Epstein discussed possible presidential tickets that could run “outside the partisan lanes,” suggesting interest in candidates who might challenge the traditional Republican and Democratic political structure.

The revelations are part of a broader release of documents connected to Epstein, which have recently exposed communications and associations between the financier and several public figures across politics, business, and academia.

Emails Show Juleanna Glover Discussed Third-Party Political Tickets With Epstein

Newly revealed emails show that Washington strategist Juleanna Glover shared ideas for potential third-party presidential tickets with Jeffrey Epstein in 2018.

In an August 2018 email sent to a group of “third-party thinkers” and later forwarded to Epstein, Glover proposed several “radical combinations” of political and business leaders who could run outside the traditional Democratic and Republican parties.

Her suggested pairings included figures such as:

  • Joe Biden / Mitt Romney
  • Bill Gates / Larry Hogan
  • Michael Bloomberg / Nikki Haley
  • Howard Schultz / Bob Corker
  • Sheryl Sandberg / John Kasich

The correspondence was part of a longer exchange between Glover and Epstein that lasted more than a year. Their discussions about centrist political campaigns suggest that some influential figures continued to interact with Epstein as a wealthy political contact despite his earlier conviction related to sex crimes.

Glover, a longtime critic of Donald Trump and a leading “Never Trump” strategist, told Politico that her communications with Epstein were intended to see whether he had information that could damage Trump’s reelection prospects.

However, according to the available emails, there is no direct evidence showing that Glover asked Epstein for information about Trump. One person involved in some of her interactions at the time also told Politico they were unaware of such an approach.

Emails Reveal Business and Political Contacts Between Juleanna Glover and Jeffrey Epstein

In an interview, Juleanna Glover acknowledged that she had asked Jeffrey Epstein for assistance in a business matter in 2017 involving her high-profile client Elon Musk and potential funding from Saudi Arabia.

According to emails reviewed by Politico, Glover wrote to Epstein suggesting that if he was advising any sovereign wealth funds interested in helping “a prominent company go private,” she could assist. The email referred to efforts related to Tesla.

In a reply, Epstein criticized Musk, saying the billionaire was not “fluent” in dealing with Middle Eastern negotiators and their “bluster” and “bloviating bragging,” after the expected Saudi funding failed to materialize.

The emails also show that Glover briefly tried to help reintroduce Epstein to mainstream circles. In 2017, she arranged a meeting between Epstein and the head of Freedom House, apparently attempting to frame him as someone interested in democratic causes.

Their exchanges also included discussions about media coverage. Epstein even offered suggestions on how to communicate with reporters from The New York Times who were investigating rumors about Musk’s alleged drug use.

A review of the Epstein files released by the United States Department of Justice found that Glover’s name appeared 191 times in the documents, although many references were duplicates. The files indicate their relationship included dozens of emails, two in-person meetings, and several phone calls.

Glover said the interaction was limited and professional. She stated that she sent 31 emails to Epstein in total:

  • 12 about logistics
  • 15 related to Tesla matters
  • 2 about third-party politics
  • 1 concerning Steve Bannon
  • 1 connecting Epstein with a pro-democracy nonprofit

She emphasized that Epstein was never her client and said she “never took anything of value from him.”

Epstein’s Wide Political Network Revealed Through Emails

The newly revealed correspondence highlights how extensive the network of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein was across the American political and intellectual landscape. His contacts reportedly ranged from moderate Republican strategists like Juleanna Glover to right-wing figures such as Steve Bannon and prominent left-leaning intellectuals like Noam Chomsky.

Glover previously served as an aide in the White House of George W. Bush and later worked as an adviser to the presidential campaign of John McCain. By 2017, however, she had largely stepped away from direct electoral politics and built a successful career advising corporate leaders and executives on navigating media and public relations challenges.

Her townhouse in the Kalorama neighborhood of Washington, D.C. became a well-known gathering place for political operatives, think-tank figures, journalists and campaign donors. Glover developed a strong network in Washington partly through hosting social events such as book launches, celebrations and gatherings for media and political insiders.

She also previously consulted for Axel Springer, the parent company of Politico.

Connection Through Journalist Michael Wolff

According to the documents, Glover was first introduced to Epstein through journalist Michael Wolff, who knew both of them. In March 2017, Wolff mentioned Glover to Epstein while she was working as a consultant for Elon Musk.

This introduction eventually led to a series of emails, meetings and phone calls between Glover and Epstein, illustrating how the financier maintained connections with influential figures in politics, business and media even years after his criminal conviction.

Glover Says Meeting Epstein Was Meant to Gather Information

In a statement, Washington strategist Juleanna Glover said she agreed to meet with Jeffrey Epstein after journalist Michael Wolff suggested the meeting in 2017.

Glover explained that her decision came while Epstein was publicly talking about Donald Trump.

“I rolled the dice when Michael Wolff asked me to meet with Epstein against the backdrop of Epstein talking publicly about Trump,” Glover said. “My interactions with Epstein were in service to that objective; not to help him in any way or improve his image.”

She added that during their exchanges she encouraged Epstein to speak with investigative journalists, including Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter James B. Stewart of The New York Times. According to Glover, Epstein eventually did speak with Stewart while the reporter was working on a book.

At the time, Glover was consulting for Elon Musk, whose company Tesla was facing scrutiny. Musk’s attempt to take Tesla private had triggered an investigation by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and widespread rumors about his behavior, increasing the need for communications and public-relations support.

Emails reviewed in the documents show Wolff recommending Glover to Epstein as someone who could provide insight on media and reputation strategy. In one message, Wolff wrote that Musk “basically owns her now,” suggesting that Glover was heavily tied to Musk’s communications work and might not be able to take other clients.

Two months later, Wolff again encouraged Epstein to meet Glover, describing her as “exceedingly smart and well connected” and capable of offering an informed perspective on broader reputation and media strategies. Wolff even suggested arranging a meeting in New York City if Epstein was interested.
