First image emerges of Andrew, Mandelson and Epstein together

A newly released image from the U.S. Department of Justice shows former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and former UK diplomat Peter Mandelson together with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to ITV News, the photo was likely taken on Martha’s Vineyard between 1999 and 2000 years before Epstein served a 13-month prison sentence and registered as a sex offender.

The image shows the three men sitting around a wooden deck table with mugs decorated with the US flag. The DOJ has not provided details about the location or exact date. Importantly, there is no suggestion that appearing in the photo implies any wrongdoing.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson Arrested Over Epstein Ties

Former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and former UK politician Peter Mandelson have each been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office because of their connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Both have since been released under investigation.

Mountbatten-Windsor has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein. Mandelson has also stated that he believes he acted lawfully, explaining that he relied on the accounts provided by Epstein and his lawyer and only learned the full scope of the situation after Epstein’s death in 2019.

Mountbatten-Windsor and Mandelson: Fallout from Epstein Connections

Former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor first met convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 1999 through Epstein’s British girlfriend, Ghislaine Maxwell, whom he had known since her university days.

Their ties to Epstein have had major consequences: Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles, while Peter Mandelson lost his position as the UK ambassador to the US.

Mountbatten-Windsor has been accused of having sexual contact with Virginia Giuffre when she was a teenager. A civil case brought by Giuffre was settled with no admission of guilt, and he has strongly denied the allegations.

The BBC has reviewed a newly discovered photo in the latest DOJ release, which is part of more than three million pages, 180,000 images, and 2,000 videos made public in January. Journalists and the public are still going through the files, uncovering additional material.

Earlier this year, other photos reportedly showed Mountbatten-Windsor kneeling over a fully clothed female, touching her stomach, while another image shows him looking directly at the camera. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in mid-February on suspicion of misconduct in public office after Thames Valley Police said they were assessing a complaint over the alleged sharing of confidential material with Epstein. He had served as the UK trade envoy from 2001 to 2011

Newly Discovered Mandelson Photos and DOJ Investigation

The latest photograph appears to have been taken at a location similar to another featured in a “birthday book” celebrating Jeffrey Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003, next to Peter Mandelson’s message.

Emails reviewed by the BBC show Mandelson and Epstein’s personal assistant, Lesley Groff, discussing the photo’s location. After Groff suggested it “might be on Jeffrey’s island,” Mandelson replied in a 19 July 2013 email: “I think it was Martha’s, the first time I met Jeffrey.” The Daily Telegraph reported that this exchange relates to the newly released images.

Mandelson was sacked as UK ambassador to the US after emails he sent supporting Epstein in 2008, when Epstein faced charges for sex offenses, were revealed. Other DOJ-released images show Mandelson standing in his underwear.

The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation last month into allegations that Mandelson may have passed on market-sensitive government information to Epstein while serving as a government minister.

Mandelson has not publicly commented recently on the Epstein files, but sources indicate he maintains he did not act criminally and was not motivated by financial gain.

For context, Epstein died in a Manhattan prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, and Ghislaine Maxwell is serving a 20-year sentence for recruiting and trafficking teenage girls for sexual abuse.
